Carbon dioxide fluxes in BLER station

For the purposes of diFUME, BLER site is now equipped with an IRGASON to measure CO2 flux, as a reference to the biogenic CO2 flux models that will be developed during diFUME.

BLER station is located 7 km outside the of the city center, on a grassland area. BLER site is active for more than decade, measuring profiles of air temperature, humidity, wind velocity, wind direction, soil heat flux and soil temperature.

For the purposes of diFUME, BLER site is now equipped with an IRGASON (Integrated CO2 and H2O Open-Path Gas Analyzer and 3-D Sonic Anemometer) to measure CO2 flux, as a reference to the biogenic CO2 flux models that will be developed during diFUME. The first measurements prove that IRGASON deployment is successful. The measured CO2 flux profiles clearly depict the diurnal variability of respiration and photosynthetic activity of the grassland.
